Sussex Transport Info

Sussex is well connected by transport links that facilitate travel around the region.  Served by a reliable bus and rail network, public transport services are well used, and a speedy rail link to London makes travelling in and out of the region quick and easy.

There are two airports, Gatwick and Shoreham, and a busy ferry port at Newhaven, which makes Sussex a good starting point for international travel. Gatwick is Britain’s second busiest airport making it a hub for international travel.

Cycle lanes are developing more and more in the larger towns as people become more environmentally aware.  The city of Brighton in particular has a growing cycle lane network, which has encouraged members of the public to give up their car and choose the green option.

Sussex maintains strong transport links in the South East and is ideally located to easily access the capital or even pop across the channel to France and the rest of Europe.
